Art residencies

The completed small manor dispensary will become an international art residence, which contributes to  the spread of professional art in the region, the creativity of local residents and broadens the horizons of local residents. By giving artists the opportunity to live and create in Merkina for a longer period of time, we encourage a more detailed study of the town's cultural and natural values. We believe that this is a good way not only to contribute to the development of local identity, but also to involve local residents in creative activities and to create mutual fellowship.

Workshop

Specialized workshop premises for the three currently most popular areas of art - textiles, woodwork and analog photography - will be established in "Merkinės Fabrik".

*A fee is charged for renting the workshop.

Exhibitions

The resident exposition is changed several times a year. It presents the work of local and international  artists, ensures sustainable connections, inter-sectoral and inter-cultural cooperation. Not only the idea and content of the exhibition is important to us, but also the overall concept, which includes exhibiting, cooperation with the local community and other organizations. Together with the residents and the curatorial team, we not only look for original topics, but also create high-quality exhibition architecture, design, exhibition descriptions and communicate them.
